As last week was filled with some exciting and thrilling movies and web series like Witcher season 3 volume 2 and Flash and many more. So here we came up with some new exciting movies and web series which are premiering on different platforms of OTT.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 (from 2nd August on Disney+ Hotstar)  

In this series half–human, half-celestial star-Lord joins with his group of friends to save the Universe. And this Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is still suffering  with the loss of Gamora.

Beau Is Afraid (from August 1 on Amazon Prime Videos)

This movie is directed by Ari Aster which is a Comedy Horror movie  starring Joaquin Phoenix. This movie story is all about how a man deals with his darkest fear when he goes for his mother’s funeral. 

Heart Stopper Season 2(from August 3 on Netflix)

This  is a British romantic web series in which the story is about two teenage boys Charlie and Nick. This is based on the British novel. They used to sit next to each other in the class and they  became friends but after some days they realise that there is something more than friendship.

Netflix India, Causing Confusion among eager Audience over ‘Choona’ Releasing 3rd August

Earlier, the release date of  “Choona” was August 2 on the Netflix app but later on the date has been changed.

This is creating a lot of confusion among the audience of the series as earlier Netflix has premier the trailer of the series but did not disclose the date when it will release.

This series has very popular actors like Jimmy Shergill, who is very famous amongst his audience on the screen. 

One explained reason for this delay  of the series is that ‘Guns And Gulaabs’ is also releasing in the same month. Maybe Netflix doesn’t want to release two blockbuster series in the same month.

Star Found Dead Tragically at the age of 25

A famous star of the Euphoria series on HBO “Angus Cloud”, known for his role as Fezco O’Neill was unfortunately  found dead at the age  25. According to the sources the actor was struggling with his health issues and his mental conditions were not good ,he was suffering from depression as well after the death of his father. He was found dead in his family home in Oakland, California. 

The reason behind the death of Angus Cloud is not known and has not been revealed. family members conveyed their grief by posting a heartfelt statement, they tried to comfort themselves by saying that Angus has reunited with his late father as his father  was his best friend.

A few days back he posted a post of his father stating “miss u breh”. HBO also showed their grief over Angus Cloud’s death and said  that  he was an extraordinarily talented actor.

Major Drop in box office of Barbie and Oppenheimer in the second week

Barbie and Oppenheimer broke every record in the first week of the box office in history but there is a decline in the second week in their collection at the box office.

Greta Gerwig’s movie “Barbie” has collected $ 93 million but in its second week of box office the sales of its tickets has greatly declined by 43% but still it is in the seventh huge collection movie in the second weekend in the history of box office.

And Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer collected $46.6 million over the weekend. It has broken all the records and became the first R-rated  movie to cross more than $10 million for seven days on friday.

This success is very outstanding because there is not much decline in the second week of box office as compared to other movies as there is usually a 50-60% decline rate in the second  week of  the box office.

Netflix maintains its  position in engaging the users among OTT platforms leaving behind  even Youtube in this category. Even though it faced some challenges in 2023, Netflix remains the most favourite  brand and  its users are spending at least 1 hour daily on  this platform.

Netflix is on top because of several  reasons and one most important reason is its semi -closed system with very little advertising. Netflix is ahead of its competitors  such as Disney+ and Hulu because they  have ad options. This helps viewers  to maintain attention without getting disturbed by the different ads.

If we talk about TikTok, its close competitor  is Youtube because of its medium length video watching time.Youtube’s viewers viewing time is 34 minutes per individual while TikTok’s users time is  17 minutes  per individual. 

Netflix has  its dedicated audience,this has  become possible only because it has very little ads, making  it on top as compared to  different  OTT  platforms.

Oppenheimer still failed to surpass the top movies like Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Schindler’s List, Nolan’s Inception and Seven and many more.

Oppenheimer was released last week throughout the whole world. The story of this movie has been taken from ‘American Prometheus’ book 2005. It has earned more than $200 million across the world and its Rotten Tomatoes is 94%.

But this is not the end, the movie has secured the 2nd position out of 250 movies in the 2023 highest rated movies of all time. Oppenheimer’s IMDb rating is 8.8 out of 10. Shockingly Greta Gerwig‘s movie ‘Barbie’ was released on the same day and has received very positive reviews but did not get any position on top 250 IMDb’s list.

Oppenheimer has left behind and surpassed some good films like Nolan’s own ‘Interstellar’, ‘The silence of the Lambs’, and gladiator and many more. But  Oppenheimer still failed to surpass the top movies like Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Schindler’s List, Nolan’s Inception and Seven and many more.
