Anupam Kher had gone bankrupt

Anupam Kher wrote in his post, “I had gone bankrupt in 2002. I did a play on my failures based on that. At that time I had Rs 4000 in my account. But, I did not complain, did not blame the world. I worked harder.”

Prepared himself

Anupam Kher has previously opened up about overcoming bankruptcy in an interview. He said in that interview, “In 2004, because I was not a business person, I almost went bankrupt and started all over again. I am the sum of my failures. People started calling me thespian, veteran and legend – which meant you should be given a lifetime achievement award,

But I refused to do that. I went abroad and did an American series. After 60, people think of retirement, but I started building my body.”

He was a victim of facial paralysis

In his Instagram note, Anupam Kher also recalled the time when he suffered from facial paralysis. He shared, “When I suffered facial paralysis while shooting for ‘Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun’, people thought my career was over. I overcame it. I was a Hindi medium guy. I did big Hollywood films with top Hollywood actors like Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence.”

Recalling his struggling days, the veteran actor wrote, “When I started out, I spent many days starving. There were many times when I had to sleep at railway stations because I didn’t have money to rent a room. There were many moments when I felt I had compromised my dignity as a human being and an actor.
