People used to get mesmerized by the sound of Zakir‘s tabla and used to say ‘Wah Ustad’. Zakir spread the fame of his art not only in the country but all over the world. Even after getting so much fame in life, Ustad liked to live a simple life and he was often down to earth. He had achieved this position after many struggles in his life. Zakir Hussain was born on 9 March 1951 in Mumbai. He was the son of tabla player Ustad Allah Rakha. Zakir had inherited this talent of playing tabla from his father.
He learned to play musical instruments with full dedication since childhood. He learned to play Pakhawaj at the age of just three years. His father taught him this art. He gave his first concert in America at the age of just 11 years. After this, he launched his first album ‘Living in the Material World’ in the year 1973.
