Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra-One : Anubhav Sinha was devastated by the criticism, said- ‘No one would pick up the phone’
Ra-One was the biggest film of 2011 but when it was released, it proved to be a flop. Anubhav Sinha has revealed the reason for the failure of this film. He told that after the failure of Ra-One, he had to face a lot of criticism which shook him from within. He had lost faith in himself.
Anubhav Sinha, who has made hits like Tum Bin and Dus, might have created history in cinema with his third film, if the film Ra-One had become a hit. Shah Rukh Khan had not only played the lead role in the superhero action thriller, but also produced the film. This film was the most anticipated film, which was much talked about before and after its release.
Ra-One was directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, Anubhav Sinha not only told the reason for the failure of the film, but also mentioned the consequences that followed. Due to the failure of this film, his morale fell so much that he did not direct films for years.
After the failure of Ra.One, Anubhav Sinha had to face criticism. People started judging his ability, which broke him. Regarding this, the director said-
After Ra.One, people stopped answering my phone calls. Everything was over. When it released in 2011, it did a business of about Rs 150 crore, but I was criticized a lot that I do not know how to make a film. No one in Mumbai would pick up my phone, I had no work. This continued for five-six years. Then I produced some films, because I felt that I am not a director.
