Construction was going on before Joshimath of Chamoli
A five km long bypass was being constructed till Helang Marwadi, 12 km before Joshimath. This work was going on under the All Weather Road Project. During the construction, the hill suddenly started cracking and within no time the entire part of the hill came down. Somehow the workers ran away and saved their lives. At the same time, the local people allege that the rules are being ignored during the construction. This is the reason why landslides are happening. At the same time, the video is said to be two days old.
