The movie tells the story of a teenage girl named Jamie. She lives with her mother. Her mother is very protective of Jamie. Her mother always warns her to stay alert and avoid getting involved in dangerous situations.
She tells Jamie about her teenage friends who were killed 35 years ago by the mysterious killer. And now she is afraid that Jamie might also get hurt due to her carefee nature.
Despite her mother’s warning, Jamie came across a masked maniac who tried to kill her. While escaping from the dangerous attack of the masked killer, Jamie accidentally travels back in time to the year 1987.
There she finds her mother, who is a teenager herself. She poses as a new girl in the town and makes friends with the teenage version of her mother. Later, they both try to save Jamie’s mother and three friends who are about to get killed.
Actors Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, and Randall Park are playing key roles with various other actors in supporting roles in the movie.
The movie is directed by Nahnatchka Khan. The screenplay of the movie is done by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver and Jen D’Angelo. The story of the movie is written by Matalon and Perl-Raver.
