Actress Jyothika Saravanan became a victim of online trolling. She is facing this trolling due to a statement given during a press meeting in Chennai. She had reached there for the promotion of her next Hindi film ‘Srikanth‘. When he was asked a question about not voting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, his controversial answer created a ruckus.
During the press conference, a reporter asked Jyothika why she did not vote? The actress replied that she votes every year, to which the reporter corrected her saying that elections are not held every year, but once in 5 years. The actress then apologized for her mistake, but the reason she gave for not voting has sparked a debate on a serious topic on Twitter.
Jyothika said in the statement that she was away many times during the elections and due to poor health people were not able to vote. She considers voting as a personal issue. The actress further said that she votes in some secret way (privately) like online. According to him, not everything is publicized, some are personal. She wants everyone to respect others’ privacy.
