The story of the series revolves around a 30 year old Julio Lopez. He lives mother and grandmother. He still has the same bedroom that he used to have in childhood.
He works in a rehabilitation programme named Hugs Not Thugs, which helps people who have just completed their prison life and are now readjusting their lives outside the prison.
Luis, his older cousin, has a history of being a gang member. He is recently released from eight years of prison and now at the rehab centre.
The series will show the various efforts Julio will make to improve his community. He also starts trying hard to overcome his dependence on his family. But eventually finds himself in a hilarious situation.
Actors Chris Estrada, Frankie Quiñones, Michael Imperioli, Michelle Ortiz, Laura Patalano, Julia Vera, Fabian Alomar, and Sandra Hernandez are playing various roles in the series.
