Tabu Joins Cast of Dune : Renowned actress Tabu is set to grace the screen in the upcoming Max streaming series, Dune: Prophecy, serving as a prequel to Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed Dune film series. Previously titled Dune : The Sisterhood.
The show has been in the works since before the pandemic and is now ready to introduce audiences to a captivating new narrative. As reported by Variety, Tabu will portray the character Sister Francesca, based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune penned by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson.
Tabu will play one of the two sisters and it will be a recurring role. Her character is described as ‘strong, intelligent and alluring’. “Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital,” read the description.
The series delves into the expansive lore of the Dune universe, taking viewers thousands of years back in time before the events depicted in Villeneuve’s films. While the movies follow the journey of Paul Atreides, Dune : Prophecy shifts its focus to the origins of the Bene Gesserit clan.
