Suchitra Pillai, who became connected with her now-husband Lars Kjeldsen, is not prepared to accept the label of “boyfriend snatcher.” She disclosed that following his breakup with actress Preity Zinta, she began dating Lars.
Suchitra Pillai, who most recently starred in season two of Broken News, disclosed in an interview that although Lars had dated her Dil Chahta Hai co-star Preity prior to their relationship, she was not the cause of their breakup.
Suchitra Pillai refuted the notion that she was being labelled a “boyfriend snatcher” by the media, saying, “That’s another story from somebody else.” Because we shared a pal, Preity and I were acquaintances rather than friends.
However, just one portion of the story—that Lars Kjeldsen dated Preity Zinta for a while before we broke up—is accurate. They split up for entirely different reasons; I didn’t put them apart.
She referred to the belief that she was the cause of their breakup as a “huge misunderstanding.” “It was not my fault. She elaborated, “I was referred to as a ‘boyfriend snatcher’ on the cover of multiple magazines when I returned from England. The headlines at the time said that Suchitra Pillai was a boyfriend snatcher.
“The reason for this was that I began dating Andrew Coyne, who founded Star Television in India. This was the relationship in question, although the breakup between Andrew and his model partner Achala Sachdev was not my fault. After many years, it’s only a footnote, and Archala and I still chuckle about it,” she remarked.
In 2005, Suchitra and Lars tied the knot. Together, they have a daughter named Annika Kjeldsen. Preity is wed to Gene Goodenough, a financial analyst residing in Los Angeles. Through surrogacy, the couple gave birth to twins, Gia and Jai, in 2021.
