Top-5 movies in Earnings : ‘Stree 2’ saved the honor
The year 2024 is now about to enter its last quarter. In the last 9 months, Bollywood’s veteran film makers made dozens of films. But out of these, only 2 Bollywood films have been able to make it to the top-5 of this year in terms of earnings. At the same time, South has once again captured 3 places, leaving Bollywood behind.
1. Kalki 2898 AD
The film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ released on 9 May 2024 has so far achieved the title of the highest grossing film of this year. According to IMDB data, Tamil director Nag Ashwin‘s film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has grossed Rs 1052 crore worldwide. However, it was a big budget film and was made at a cost of Rs 550 crore.
2. Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank
Director Amar Kaushik‘s superhit film ‘Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank’ has created a lot of sensation at the box office. This film has made a record of earning and has collected 815 crores rupees worldwide. The collection of this film has surprised everyone. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi, this film has been the second biggest film of this year in terms of earnings.
3. The Greatest of All Time
South superstar Thalapathy Vijay‘s film ‘The Greatest of All Time’, which released in theaters on September 5, also surprised everyone in terms of earnings. It is at number three among the highest grossing films of this year. According to IMDB data, the worldwide collection of the film has crossed Rs 442 crore.
4. Fighter
‘Fighter’ was the movie that gave good news to Bollywood at the box office earlier this year. Director Siddharth Anand‘s film was released on 25th January. This is the second Bollywood film which has been the fourth biggest film of this year in terms of earnings. Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor were seen playing lead roles in the film. According to IMDB data, the film has collected Rs 355 crores worldwide.
5. Hanu Man
South director Prashant Verma’s film Hanuman also rocked the box office upon its release. This film, which was released on January 12 this year, has become the 5th highest grossing film of this year so far with a worldwide earning of Rs 256 crore.
