The Untold Story Behind the Actor Who Lost ‘Inder’ Role in Sanam Teri Kasam
The craze of the 2016 romantic film Sanam Teri Kasam is being seen after 9 years. Ever since the film has been released again, the theatres are housefull and only Sanam Teri Kasam rules the box office. The credit for the success of the film goes as much to the director-writers as to the actors.
Harshvardhan Rane, who debuted with Sanam Teri Kasam, won the hearts of the audience with his first film itself. He was liked a lot in the role of Inder. But you probably don’t know that initially Harshvardhan Rane was not selected for the role of Inder. The makers’ first choice was someone else with whom the directors had even shot for three months.
Vicky Kaushal had also auditioned
For Sanam Teri Kasam, some other actor was cast earlier and the directors had started shooting with him. But before the photoshoot, two actors had to be auditioned. These actors were Harshvardhan and Vicky Kaushal. Yes, Vicky Kaushal had also auditioned for Sanam Teri Kasam but the role was given to Harshvardhan. This has been revealed by Sanam Teri Kasam director Vinay Sapru himself.
This is why Harshvardhan got the film
Vinay Sapru said in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, “We had shortlisted Ehan Bhatt and he trained with us for three months. However, there were two more auditions left – one of Vicky Kaushal and the other of Harshvardhan Rane. We were about to do a photoshoot the next day. Then Harshvardhan came and he performed very well. During the audition, he did a scene where he took off his shirt in the lift.”
