Rakul Preet Singh’s Brother Aman Preet Singh reportedly tested positive for cocaine use
In a significant development, Aman Preet Singh, brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, has been arrested by the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau, Cyberabad police’s Special Operations Team (SOT), and Rajendranagar police in connection with a drugs case.
Aman Preet Singh was detained alongside four other suspects, including two Nigerian nationals, for allegedly being involved in the sale of cocaine to high-profile clients in Hyderabad.
The authorities conducted a joint operation which led to the arrest of the group. During the raid, the police seized 199 grams of cocaine, two passports, two motorcycles, and ten mobile phones. Aman Preet Singh reportedly tested positive for cocaine use and was listed among thirteen individuals identified as consumers of the drugs.
This incident has attracted considerable media attention, especially given the past scrutiny faced by his sister, Rakul Preet Singh. Rakul was previously summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2020 concerning the alleged drug connections in the case of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
She had also appeared before the ED in Hyderabad in 2021 in relation to a money laundering case tied to a drug racket busted in 2017.
The Cyberabad police have stated that further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of Aman Preet Singh‘s involvement and his connections with the other arrested individuals, who include repeat offenders.
This case adds to the ongoing issues in the Telugu film industry regarding drug-related offenses, raising questions about the influence of narcotics in the entertainment sector and prompting calls for stricter regulations and enforcement.
