Ilaiyaraaja recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday. Both of them praised each other by sharing pictures of their meeting through their X posts. Describing this meeting as very special and memorable, Ilaiyaraaja has written that for me the meeting with the Prime Minister was very wonderful and memorable. We discussed many topics including my symphony “Valiant”. He supported my talent and support.
PM Modi praised Ilaiyaraaja’s symphony performance with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London and said that he is the superstar of Indian music who has created a new history in the world.
Ilaiyaraaja has given music in more than 1000 films in a career spanning more than four decades. He has given tunes in famous compositions “Thempandi Chemayile”, “Machchana Paathingala”. He has given music in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He has been awarded Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan. He has received the National Film Award four times. He has become the first Indian musician to work with the London Symphony Orchestra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised his achievement in the world and called him a music superstar.
