Story about the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens. Art Carney, David Huffman, Cassie Yates, Ron O’Neal, Bill McKinney. Ernest Pintoff directed., Harry Truman was the stubborn old coot who refused to leave his mountain resort on the flanks of Mount St. Helens when she threatened to reawaken in the spring of 1981. Though geologists tried their best to get him to evacuate the mountain with the others, Truman refused to listen. Actual filmclips from the volcano’s monstrous eruption are included to add a much needed dose of reality to the romanticized but true tale of a foolish man’s demise.
