Chronicle of marathon runner Stan Cottrell’s 2125-mile trek across China in 1985. Directed by Mickey Grant., This documentary follows long-distance runner Stan Cottrell as he takes part in the Great Friendship Run of 1985. The participants runs over 2,125 miles in 53 days on top of the Great Wall of China from Peking to Canton. Cottrell encounters the people of China along the way, often giving political insight into the advances of the post Cultural Revolution. Cottrell spent five years setting up the race. Once filming was completed, it took 18 months to get the film out of the country due to political red tape.
