Arizona Sweepstakes

Cowboy star Hoot Gibson stars as carefree Coot Cadigan, who makes a biiiiig mistake when he wanders into San Francisco’s Chinatown at night. Finding himself in the middle of a tong war, Coot winds up being accused of murder. He hightails it back to Arizona, where he hides out on the ranch owned by his old pal Col. Tom Savery (Emmett King). When the colonel is threatened with foreclosure, Coot enters the Arizona Sweepstakes race, hoping to win first prize and thus bail out his friend. Not only does he accomplish this task, but he also wins the hand of Savery’s daughter Nell (Helen Lynch) — and as a bonus, he finds out at the very end that he’s been cleared of the murder charge. Whew!
