Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel

The saga of “Anne of Green Gables” continues as Anne’s new teaching position at a girls school leads her into a world of difficult students, romance and heartache., In this sequel to Anne of Green Gables, Megan Follows plays 18-year-old Anne Shirley, who has grown up on a Canadian farm. Now Anne is a teacher, dedicated to her profession but still hoping to find the man of her dreams. She eventually teaches at a remote schoolhouse on Prince Edward Island. The screenplay is based not only on Anne of Avonlea but two other Montgomery books, Anne of Windy Poplars (previously filmed in 1940) and Anne of the Island. This four-hour feature version of Anne of Avonlea was originally telecast in two parts.
