In the Season 2 finale, Michelle and Tony benefit from new evidence against Kingsley, who reassures his conspirators; Bob Warner confronts Marie., This is the finale of the second season. Faced with evidence against Kingsley (Tobin Bell) presented by Jacobs (Scott Paulin), Palmer’s (Dennis Haysbert) lawyer, Mike (Jude Ciccolella), calls Chapelle (Paul Schulze) and orders him to assist Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) in his investigation. Tony (Carlos Bernard) and Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth) are reinstated. Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald) wears a wire for her meeting with Kingsley (Tobin Bell), and Jack arranges for a live audio feed directly to Kingsley and Palmer. Sherry gets Kingsley to incriminate himself on tape, but Kingsley grows suspicious and orders her killed by his sniper. Jack has already taken care of the sniper, and Sherry runs for cover as the bullets start to fly. Having heard enough evidence, Prescott calls off the attack in the Middle East. When Kingsley’s boss, Max (Thomas Kretschmann), hears that the plot has failed, he calmly enacts his backup plan, which begins with an attack on Palmer himself.
