Matthew Perry case : …..for exploiting his drug addiction battle
In a significant development related to the late actor Matthew Perry, two physicians, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez, have surrendered their prescription licenses amid allegations of their involvement in Perry’s death.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) confirmed that both doctors are facing charges of exploiting Perry’s struggle with drug addiction, specifically related to the distribution of ketamine.

Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, tragically passed away on October 28, 2023, from the acute effects of ketamine combined with drowning. Investigations revealed that the doctors allegedly supplied Perry with large quantities of ketamine in the weeks leading up to his death.
Dr. Plasencia, in particular, is accused of orchestrating the distribution of ketamine with Perry’s assistant, leading to multiple serious charges.
The case against the physicians highlights the dangers of medical professionals exploiting vulnerable individuals battling addiction. Dr. Chavez, who communicated with Plasencia about financial aspects of the transactions, faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
