Matthew Perry reportedly overdosed multiple times on ketamine
Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, had a tragic final chapter to his life. In the weeks leading up to his death in October 2023, Perry reportedly overdosed multiple times on ketamine, a powerful anesthetic he was using to treat depression and anxiety.
His assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, administered these doses, despite Perry experiencing severe adverse reactions, including freezing up and skyrocketing blood pressure after one particularly large dose.
In the month before his death, Perry was found unconscious on several occasions. On the day of his death, Iwamasa administered a final dose of ketamine before leaving Perry alone at home, where he was later found unresponsive in his hot tub.
Court documents revealed that Perry had requested a stronger dose that day, sealing his fate. The circumstances of his death have led to charges against several individuals involved in providing the drugs, including two doctors and a notorious supplier known as the “Ketamine Queen”.
