‘Matka’ did not Get Any Audience Even on the Third Day, the Film Seems to be Dying

Matka Box Office Collection Day 3:

It’s been three days since the release of South actor Varun Tej‘s period action drama film ‘Matka’. The film was released in theatres last Thursday, i.e. 14th November. The film flopped at the box office on its opening day itself. The film did a business of just 71 lakhs on the first day. It was expected that the film’s performance might improve, but its condition is continuously getting worse. Now the box office collection of the film’s third day has also come out.

Varun Tej becomes Matka King

This film is set in the backdrop of Visakhapatnam city in the late 1950s, in which Varun Tej plays the role of the famous Matka King Ratan Khatri. Its story is set between the years 1958 to 1982. The film stars Varun Tej as Matka Vasu, Meenakshi Chaudhary as Sujatha, Nora Fatehi as Sofia etc.

Crossed just Rs 1 crore mark in two days

Talking about the box office performance of the film, its performance on the first day was quite poor. It earned Rs 0.71 crore on the first day, which is even less than the average. This could not be called an ideal opening in any way for a film made on a budget of 35 crores. On the first day, the film did not even touch the figure of one crore and was reduced to just 71 lakhs.

The film did a business of Rs 66 lakhs on the second day as well, taking its total earnings in two days to Rs 1 crore 14 lakhs. The film could not even cross the modest figure of Rs 1.5 crores in the first two days. Now the report of the third day of this film has also come out.

Earned only 46 lakhs on the third day

The condition of the film remained bad on the third day as well. The film did a business of only 46 lakhs on the first Saturday. With this the total earnings of the film have become 1 crore 83 lakhs. Even after three days of its release, the film has not been able to cross the figure of two crores. The road ahead is going to be very difficult for this film, because the budget of the film is 35 crores and the more days pass since its release, its earnings will keep on decreasing.
