Case filed against producers
The much-awaited film ‘Kanguva‘ starring Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani has landed in legal trouble just days before its release on November 14. According to reports, Reliance Entertainment has sued the film’s producer, KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, for outstanding loans for a few films. An FIR has reportedly been filed in the Chennai High Court in this regard.
Demand to ban OTT release of ‘Tanghalan’
Reliance Entertainment has alleged that Raja had borrowed Rs 99.22 crore for the films ‘Teddy’ (2021) and ‘Tanghalan’ (2024) but has returned only Rs 45 crore so far. The entertainment giant is now demanding the remaining Rs 55 crore and accusing Raja of breach of contract. Apart from this, Reliance Entertainment has also sought the court to stop the theatrical release of Kanguva and ban the OTT premiere of ‘Tanghalan’ till the pending payments are paid.
