Recently, Kangana Ranaut shared a 1968 vintage video of famous actress Hema Malini doing Bharatanatyam on her Instagram story. In the video, a 20-year-old Hema Malini is seen performing gracefully on stage.
Kangana Ranaut showed her respect for Hema Malini‘s enduring skill on Instagram, praising her for her ability to still put on three- to four-hour performances. In response to a politician’s recent sexist statements, Ranaut defended the seasoned actress.
The “Queen” actress wrote- “20 years old Hema ji performing on stage even now Hema ji can give 3-4 hours long performance on stage, jo log naritya, sangeet aur kala ka mazak banate hai, woh neech aur choti soch rakhte hai ” ,(Those who make fun of dance, music, and art, they have small minds,) emphasizing the value of these forms of expression.
She also referred to mythology, drawing comparisons between the divine gifts given and characters like Arjun in Devlok’s study of the arts by Lord Shiv toward people. She added, “Devlok mein Arjun ne bhi naritya, sangeet aur kala mein shiksha li thi, Lord Shiv ne yog ke saath ye kalayein manushya ko di hai tabhi woh Natraj kehlate hai!”
