Kangana Ranaut is a candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from her native Mandi. In Himachal Pradesh, the election is expected to take place on June 1.

Kangana Ranaut provided an explanation following the appearance of a contentious photo on social media in recent days. She is pictured with a man identified as gangster Abu Salem. Kangana Ranaut who is now a politician said on her Instagram Stories that the man in the photo is a former journalist and that the statement is untrue. Currently, Kangana Ranaut is the Bharatiya Janata Party’s nominee for the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh.

“Desperate Congress officials are spreading this picture with the caption that I am partying with Gangster AbuSalem, this is utterly disrespectful to journalist Mr. Mark Manuel who is ex-entertainment editor of Times of India,” Kangana wrote in the caption she posted alongside a screenshot of the image, which showed her smiling with a man. This photo is from a party for a movie promotion, and he is not AbuSalem.

Kangana shared a number of photos with Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. Modi visited Mandi on May 24 and spoke at a rally. In one of the pictures, she welcomed the PM and gave him a crimson rose. “The day has arrived to work under the guidance of PM Modi,” she stated in a public forum, expressing her thanks for the chance to serve under his leadership. Hailing Prime Minister Modi is akin to holding up a candle to the sun. He has accomplished amazing technical and modern developmental works. As a party worker, I’m now a member of his team and dedicated to Mandi’s progress.”

The next film that Kangana will be seen in is Emergency, where she plays Indira Gandhi. It was written by Ritesh Shah, who also wrote the script for Kangana’s poorly received movie Dhaakad. In addition to Kangana, the film features important roles for actors Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade. The movie’s release date is still up in the air.
