Jigra Press Show: Karan gives full reason in a long letter
The discussions that have been going on in the corridors of Mumbai since Monday morning regarding Karan Johar‘s film production company Dharma Productions have taken a new turn in the evening. The company’s film ‘Jigra‘, which is releasing this Friday, will no longer have any pre-release show for film critics or other people related to the media. Karan Johar and Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Purohit have also issued a letter in this regard.
Filmmaker-producer Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions will not be holding pre-release screenings of its upcoming films. The production house, signed by Dharma co-founders KJo and Apoorva Mehta, issued a statement addressed to the media, explaining the reason behind its decision. “For many years, rather decades, you have stood strongly with us at Dharma Productions,” the letter, addressed to the dear members of the media, said.
The note further read, ‘You have been supporting our films, sharing our dreams and celebrating our victories. Your belief in us has been our driving force throughout our journey and we would like to take this opportunity to express our deep and heartfelt gratitude to all of you. Each and every coverage, review and feedback has been invaluable to us and has undoubtedly helped us take our films to audiences far and wide.’
The note further reads, ‘As we continue to evolve, we find ourselves at a juncture where we must change and innovate our approach. After much deliberation, we have unanimously decided to forgo pre-release screenings for our upcoming films. This decision was a difficult one to take. However, we believe it is a necessary step to ensure that every audience, including our friends in the media, can see our stories the way they should be experienced. We believe this will help keep the excitement of the cinematic experience alive for all.’
