WARNING: This is an esoteric approach to the understanding of economic cycles from the time of the Sumerian Empire to the present. In the introductory section, we explore the economic thought and observations of a select group of polymaths from the past and present centuries. Then we apply their ideas–both esoteric and orthodox–to the questions at hand. Using their models and data, we trace the rise and fall of economies at the level of Empire Cycles down to the more mundane but shorter Business Cycle. With live action, stills, animation, and interviews, we explore the history of reoccurring financial crises.
