In 1988, The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was passed allowing Native American Tribes the opportunity to use gaming to encourage economic growth and development. A small tribe in the far northeastern corner of Oklahoma known as the Quapaw have used those opportunities to develop far past gaming operations.
