Today, the Mormon Church continues to teach that its male members (not women) can become gods in the hereafter, only if they follow the teachings of the Church in this life. Thus, according to the teachings of this cult, these gods in embryo will eventually populate and rule over their own planets if they are worthy enough. They also hold to a strange belief that Adam (found in the Bible) was the god of this earth. Although they still hold him in high esteem, the truth is that the teachings of the Church founder Joseph Smith, Jr. are not relevant today, if they ever were. Patriotism is publicly an issue that is dear to the heart of most of todays Mormons. However, not all of the early Mormon pioneers were true American patriots. This was especially true when it came down to fighting for what they believed were their rights. They have a long history of bloody violence which they don’t like to talk about today. They continue to state that the Bible is accurate only as it is correctly translated. At the same time, they state that the Book of Mormon is the most accurate collection of scripture on earth.
