4 2 Segment 2 Mission as Fulfillment of the Divine Promise describes God’s covenant faithfulness to fulfill his promise. This motif begins with God’s covenant promise to Abraham and passes to the patriarchs, then to the tribe of Judah, and then to David. In the person of Jesus, the promise of Abraham and David has been fulfilled, and now in mission, the promise of new life is offered to the nations.
