10 6 Segment 2 This segment examines the variety of ways that Christians have understood Christ’s death throughout Christian history. These theories of the atonement each focus on a particular dimension of salvation, including his death as a moral example, a demonstration of God’s love, a demonstration of God’s justice, a victory over the forces of evil and sin, and a satisfaction of God’s honor.
