May 9, 1945 in Color

Until the 9 of may 1945, 40000 soldiers of Wehrmacht and Waffen – SS assembled in the area of Vogdland and Western Ore Mountains. On this day the troops surrendered to the 87th US Infantry Division. A camera team of the US Army Airforces (SFP 186) recorded this unique situation in colour. The places then and today have been researched and compared!
