Kandinsky and the Russian House

Kandinsky pioneered abstract art in the early part of the 20th century, gradually moving away from a figuritive form of expression towards a non representational art. He lived and worked in the centres of artistic excellence: Paris, Berlin, Munich etc. However at the same time he considered Moscow and Russia as “the tuning fork” for his painting.
