Berliner Philharmoniker – Claudio Abbado: Beethoven Symphony No. 1

In February 2001 the Berliner Philharmoniker and Claudio Abbado were guests at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rom with the Beethoven symphonies. Their success was overwhelming with standing ovations after each performance. This video recording contains Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21”. A piece that introduced Beethoven as an advancing symphonic composer.
