‘Beautiful Giant’ – The C-5 Galaxy

The C-5 Galaxy was introduced in 1969. The world’s largest military transport aircraft, it is more than 80 yards long and can carry 130 tons of payload and fly at 500 mph. Twelve internal wing tanks make it capable of aerial refuelling. Its landing gear has 28 attached wheels for stability. It is, without doubt, a beautiful, useful giant.
