Salvatore Accardo is considered to be one of today’s most celebrated violinists. During his career spanning over half a century, Accardo has endeavoured in all types of music with the same enthusiasm: he has also dedicated much of his time to teaching violin to numerous young musicians, some of whom are now established professionals on an international level.Dynamic is happy to feature a series of DVDs proposing the master classes held by Salvatore Accardo in Cremona (the world capital of Violin Making) at the famous Walter Stauffer Musicology Centre in 2011. These classes are dedicated to several of the most famous pieces of the violin repertoire (both chamber and virtuosic music).”What we try to pass on to our pupils is the idea that they must approach the music score with rigour. We must always convey to the audience, to those who listen to us, what is written on the score we play. For this reason it is important to perfect one’s technique, not only one’s expressivity. Without technique you cannot express what you feel inside.” Salvatore AccardoThe first DVD proposed by Dynamic featured two considerably different compositions in character and content: Beethoven’s Sonata No.3 Op.12 in E flat major and Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy Op.25.The second DVD featured Beethoven’s Sonata No.5 Op.24 La Primavera – Allegro and Sonata Op.47 A Kreutzer. In the present we are featuring Szymanowski Notturno and Tarantella op.28 and Bach’s Chaconne.A fourth and last new recording with other master classes is scheduled for release over the next few months.
