A New Beginning. 1948 – 1957

“A New Beginning” tells of the absorption of the 850,000 Jewish refugees from Yemen, Morocco, Libya, and Egypt. The film takes us back fourteen centuries to the present-day Arab/Israeli conflict. “A New Beginning” captures the beginning of the Cold War, the Suez crisis, and the fate of Jews behind the Iron Curtain in contrast with the challenge of freedom in 1950’s suburban America.
