30 Rock: Cast & Creators Live at the Paley Center

The cast and crew of 30 Rock discuss their favorite scenes, how they became involved in the show, and actor input into the writing. This Paley Center for Media evening honors 30 Rock, a comedy series about the cast and production team of a sketch comedy television show. David Bushman (television and advertising curator, The Paley Center for Media) welcomes the audience and moderates the following panelists: series creator/writer/executive producer and star Tina Fey (Liz Lemon); co-executive producer Robert Carlock; and cast members Tracy Morgan (Tracy Jordan) and Jane Krakowski (Jenna Maroney). The panelists touch on topics such as Tina Fey’s development of the show, similarities between Fey and her character Liz Lemon, how the cast members became involved with the show (including how Alec Baldwin was persuaded to participate), the show’s writing process, how much input the actors have in the writing, the crew’s favorite scenes, and Fey’s adjustment from writing sketch comedy to half-hour sitcoms.
