India’s famous singer Rekha Bhardwaj sang the popular song ‘Namak’ in the event. During the event, she spoke openly and said that I have no objection in singing item songs, item songs reflect my art and it will not spoil my image.
The song was sung in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Omkara, whose song “Namak” was an item number in which Rekha made her own identity by singing.
Rekha further said that I never thought whether a song would be an item song or not, I have always given importance to the emotion of music, singing Namak was a challenge but I sang it with all my heart.
Rekha Bhardwaj told that there are often objectionable comments about item songs in the society, but singing every song is the skill of an artist.
Rekha’s clear thinking and confidence proves that she is an example of being a true artist. She has said that a strong singer can present his singing in any field.
