Box office Collection Day 3: Kanguva was a Disaster on the Third Day

Kanguva : it was difficult to even reach 50 crores

Kanguva Box office Collection) South superstar Suriya‘s charm seems to be fading in Kanguva. The film is not able to collect the amount the makers and the actor had expected. The period action-drama made a slow collection at the box office at the domestic and international level.

Advance booking did not yield any benefit

For the good performance of Kanguva, the makers had arranged for early shows in the theatres but that also proved to be useless. The film was caught in legal troubles even before its release. Apart from this, advance booking also opened late which affected the collection of the film. This fantasy film was made on a huge budget of 350 crores. It also got a lot of help from the government. But the strong VFX, powerful performances and the fierce look of Suriya and Bobby Deol also proved unsuccessful in bringing the audience to the theatres.

What was the collection on the third day

The film was released on November 14. Talking about the first day, the film had a net collection of 24 crores at the box office. After this, on the second day i.e. Friday, its collection was 9.25 crores. By the time the report was written on the third day, the film had collected 7.19 crores.

According to this, the total collection of the film has reached 40.44 crores but the film is still far away from 50 crores. For this, it still needs 10 crores. If we look at the rough calculations, if Saturday and Sunday prove to be good for the film, then Kanguva can be successful in collecting 50 crores. The entire responsibility of the film rests on the weekend.

Rajinikanth’s film came ahead

The release date of the film was postponed several times to avoid competition with Vettaiyan, but it does not seem to make much difference. Vettaiyan had done a business of 82.45 crores in the first three days. Amaran, on the other hand, collected 61.55 crores in three days. Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi were seen in Amaran, while Vettaiyan is a film of superstar Rajinikanth.
