Annapoorani is young and beautiful girl. She is born and brought up in a Indian Brahmin Family. Her family have a firm believe in God. Annapoorani’s father is priest of the Srirangam Temple. He named her after the name of Goddess of Food, Annapoorana. As he believes that Annapoorani as the reincarnation of the Goddess.
From childhood she is very fascinated by a television cooking show India’s Best Chef. And she dreams of being a chef. But her family doesn’t supports her to become a chef. Her family thinks that it is not easy to become chef. And she have to cook non-vegetarian food items which is banned in their family custom.
Somehow, Annapoorani successfully takes place in a popular cooking television show India’s Best Chef. She keep her family in disguise that she is pursuing MBA. She starts to gain popularity and recognition through her best cooking skills amongst others participants of the show.
But complications arise when she have to perform a task which involves the non-vegetarian food needed to be cooked. And while performing task an unexpected accident happens at the show site.
Actors Nayanthara as Annapooran, Jai as Annapoorani’s classmate and love interest Farhaan and Sathyaraj as Chef Anand Sundarajan are playing key roles in the movie.
Alongwith Achyuth Kumar as Annapoorani’s father Rangarajan, K. S. Ravikumar as ‘Arusuvai’ Annamalai, Redin Kingsley as Chinto Chin, Sachu as Annapoorani’s grandmother Subbulakshmi Paati, Renuka as Annapoorani’s mother Saradha, Karthik Kumar as Chef Ashwin, Chef RK as Chef Raju Karthikeyan, Suresh Chakravarthy as Chef Suman, Poornima Ravi as Keerthi, Mohamed Irfan as Youtuber and Thidiyan are playing supporting roles.
The movie is directed by Nilesh Krishnaa. He is doing his directorial debut with the movie Annapoorani. And it is produced by Jatin Sethi and R. Ravindran under the banner of Zee Studios, Naad Sstudios and Trident Arts.
The music for the movie is composed by Thaman S. And cinematography of Annapoorani is handled by Sathyan Sooryan. The movie is edited by Praveen Anthony.
Annapoorani was released in theatres on December 1, 2023 and gained appreciation from the critics. The movie is all set to release for online streaming on December 29, 2023 on Netflix.
The total running time of Annapoorani is 2 hours and 26 minutes. Annapoorani will be available in different regional languages of India such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
