Anasuya Sengupta becomes the first Indian actor to win the “Best Actress” prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh applaud her.

Anasuya Sengupta has made history, as the inaugural Indian actor to receive the esteemed ‘Best Actress’ title at the Cannes Film Festival. She is the main character in Konstantin Bojanov’s film “The Shameless,” and as she makes India proud, she is receiving affection from all around the world.

Several celebrities from B-town have also supported her. Congratulating her, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh went to Instagram stories to express their love. Using a love and 100 emojis, Alia Bhatt commented on her story: “Many many congratulations to you.”

Anasuya Sengupta stated, “We just need to be very, very decent human beings—we don’t have to be queer to fight for equality, you don’t have to be colonised to know that colonising is pathetic,” during her victory speech on Friday night.

She dedicated her honour to the marginalised communities, including the queer community, for their courageous global struggles for rights.

On May 17, “The Shameless” made its Cannes debut. The movie delves deeply into the realm of oppression and suffering. The story centres on two prostitutes who are enduring the hardships inherent with their profession.
Anasuya Sengupta portrays Renuka, a heroine who stabs a police officer and flees from her brother in Delhi. She visits a colony of sex workers in Northern India. She meets Devika there, a woman destined for prostitution. In addition, Mita Vashisht and Tanmay Dhanania have significant parts in “The Shameless.”
