Alia Bhatt: These days only one of her films ‘Alpha’ is under production
Alia Bhatt, who was waiting for a blockbuster superhit film after the film ‘Kalank’, has been dealt a big blow by her latest film ‘Jigra‘. She does not have any other film for a long time to improve her position in the brand market. These days only one of her films ‘Alpha’ is under production and its release is going to happen at the end of next year. Her three-four films have been in the news for a long time, but the shooting of any of them does not seem to start in the near future.
Alia Bhatt‘s career was moving at a great pace till the year 2019. Alia had just cemented her position as the number one heroine of Hindi cinema by giving five back to back hits like ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Raazi’ and ‘Gully Boy’ but Dharma Productions’ film ‘Kalank’ put a break on her pace.
Alia has been struggling since then. After ‘Kalank’, Alia worked in two more films of Dharma Productions like ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and there were a lot of discussions about the box office collection of these films just like the film ‘Jigra’.
Meanwhile, her film ‘Sadak 2’ was a superflop. ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ somehow reached theatres with the financial support of producer Jayantilal Gada and could only do average business at the ticket window. Two of her films were directly released on OTT, in which the film ‘Darlings’ got a mixed response. People liked the work of Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah in it, but the presence of Vijay Verma and his monotonous acting also harmed the film. People do not even remember when ‘Heart of Stone’ came and when it went.
Alia Bhatt has tried to enter South cinema through SS Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’. Her friendship with Jr NTR on the sets of this film paved the way for the film ‘War 2’. The discussion between Alia and her close friend director Ayan Mukherjee regarding Jr NTR also gave birth to ‘Alpha’. But now after the failure of ‘Jigra‘, debates have already started in Yash Raj Films as to whether the audience will like Alia’s action avatar in ‘Alpha’ or not.
