A man was cheating people in the name of actress Vidya Balan, FIR registered

Vidya Balan is a well-known actress of Indian cinema who has worked in films of other languages besides Hindi. Currently, he is in the news regarding one of his fake accounts, due to which he has filed a case with the police against those doing so. Vidya Balan has become the new victim of digital fraud. The actress recently became a victim of the dark side of the internet when fake Instagram and Gmail accounts were created in her name, following which she had to file an FIR against the criminals.

The incident came to light when a source close to the Indian film industry told Vidya that someone claiming to be her had started a conversation on WhatsApp and even promised her a job. Upset by this revelation, the actress immediately clarified that she had neither contacted the person nor used the phone number in question. After this, as soon as the information was received, Vidya did not waste even a second and took action. They registered a case against an unknown person under the Information Technology Act. Reports say that on Monday she lodged a complaint at Khar police station through her manager Aditi Sandhu.
The accused had allegedly created a fake Gmail account (vidyabalanspeaks@gmail.com) and Instagram profile (vidya.balan.pvt), which he used to defraud unsuspecting persons. The case filed by Vidya Balan has been registered under Section 66(C) of the IT Act, which relates to dishonestly using unique identification features of another person. The fake promises of job were made between February 17 and February 19, causing further trouble to the actress.
