Air India Flight: Mother and Son Became ill After Eating It

An Air India passenger has complained of finding cockroaches in the ‘omelette’ served on a flight from Delhi to New York. At the same time, Air India has said that it has raised the matter with the catering service provider for further investigation. Expressing concern over the incident, an Air India spokesperson said in a statement, “We are aware of the information posted on social media by a passenger, in which he has said that he found cockroaches in the food served to him on AI 101 flight from Delhi to JFK on 17 September 2024.”

Passenger told – Cockroach found in food :

The passenger said in a post on ‘X’ that a cockroach was found in the omelette served on the flight from Delhi to New York. The passenger said, “By the time we came to know about this, my two-year-old child had eaten more than half of the omelette. As a result, he fell ill.”

The passenger also shared a short video and picture of the food items served during the flight. She tagged Air India, aviation regulator DGCA and Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu in the post and told that she had taken an Air India flight from Delhi to New York on September 17. I was very upset to see that the first breakfast served to me at the beginning of the 15-hour journey had a cockroach in the omelette. I had already eaten two-thirds of the food and what was worse was that I was feeding the same omelette to my 2-year-old child. After which both of us got food poisoning.

Air India asked to investigate and take action :

In an Air India statement, the spokesperson said that the company is concerned about the inconvenience caused to the passenger in the above case and has raised the matter with the catering service provider. The spokesperson said, “We will take necessary action to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.”
