“The Day The Towers Fell”

Photojournalists, rescue workers, and eyewitnesses share their personal experiences of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. They recall their deep shock and the numbing sense that there was more to come. Enormous clouds of dust and debris were like a nuclear winter as the towers collapsed in seeming slow motion. Survivors remember how firefighters, medical emergency personnel, and every boat in New York Harbor came to the rescue of survivors stranded in Manhattan.
