“Shotokan Karate: Advanced Kata, Volume Five” S:1 E:2 Bassai-sho

S:1 E:2 Bassai-sho Bassai-sho is an alternate version of Bassai-Dai. Bassai-Sho features defenses that are mostly head level. Many techniques are used as a defense against the bo, although they can also be used against an unarmed attack. It has open hand techniques that can be used as either strikes or grabs. It has many leg sweeps and hooking actions with the foot. Demonstrated by Anita Bendickson.
