Actually, the majority thought the appearance was overly showy and unappealing, undervaluing her natural beauty. For two days, she was the talk of social media, with unfavourable comments about her appearance swarming Twitter and Instagram. She is just in love with her clothing, though.
Aishwarya Rai looked stunning in a black and gold Falguni and Shane Peacock gown as she attended the Thursday night premiere of Francis Ford Coppola‘s Megalopolis. The dress had long cape with golden flowers that were “velcroed” all over it, and puffy white sleeves. It was made of stiff fabric. The bodice was further embellished with gold foil accents. Supporters thought the ensemble was just too dramatic, too bulky, and unsatisfactory overall. Even now, Aishwarya Rai believes it was “magical.”
“The look last evening at the red carpet was designed by my dearest friends Shane and Falguni Peacock,” Aishwarya said in a recent interview with Vogue. To me, it seemed just wonderful, despite the term “gilded glow.” In the conversation, Aishwarya Rai also discussed how all women are iconic and her cosmetic look for the evening.
At the Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya is a representative for the cosmetics company L’Oreal. The internationally acclaimed festival will feature a number of Indian films and productions. The film All We Imagine As Light by filmmaker Payal Kapadia, which has been chosen for the Competition division and is vying for the highest prize, the Palme d’Or, will be the highlight.
