Jimmy Cliff – World Music Portrait

Mins :
Jimmy Cliff is one of the founding fathers of reggae music, setting the soulful standards to which countless other reggae musicians have aspired throughout the years. This street-level documentary traces Cliff’s roots back to Kingston, Jamaica, offering personal tours of his old stomping grounds, impromptu jams on acoustic guitar, and full-band studio sessions. The program also includes live renditions of some of Cliff’s most popular songs, including “Many Rivers to Cross,” “You Can Get it if You Really Want,” and a 1973 performance of the title song from the classic cult film “The Harder They Come.”
