Dipo, A cultural heritage

Dipo is a film by Marijke Steegstra(PhD.) showing the ‘intimate’ rites of passage and rituals performed annually for hundreds of Krobo girls, anywhere between two and eighteen years old, in Ghana. Krobo people are proud of what they regard as part of their custom and cultural heritage. The performance of the rites is also a source of fun for the women involved and solidifies group identity.
